One of my favorite things I’ve written this year is a short horror story called “The Jar Lady”, which will be featured in “Don’t Go for the Vault: A Bank Robbery Horror Anthology”. It features eleven stories from Max Booth III, Lor Gislason, KC Grifant, Michael Knost, Jacy Morris, Stanley Péan, Shantell Powell, Zach Shephard, Christina Wilder, and Dave Zeltserman. And, of course, yours truly.

As the name suggests, this anthology focuses on bank robbery stories in the horror genre. The original guidelines for submission were simple enough: there must be horror elements, there must be a bank robbery, and it must involve a vault door being opened. Of course, that leaves a lot of room to play around with.

Writing short stories is funny. Whenever I see a call for submission and look at the guidelines, one of two things happens: either I think about the story parameters for a bit and then give up, or I get an idea and then it snowballs into a great idea that I have to write immediately. I’m very proud of “The Jar Lady” and I’m excited for you all to read it along with these other stories.

You can pre-order the book on Cat Eye Press. If you’re on NetGalley, you request it and give it a read before it’s out.
